Enhance the security of your account by opting for Two-Step Verification, an additional security feature. It is highly recommended for ensuring the utmost security of your account. Bookmark this guide for quick access, and consider printing a copy for future reference.

Two verification options are available:

1. **Verification by Email:**
- Click on your username in the top right corner of any page and navigate to the "Password and Security" page.
- Click the "Change" button for two-step verification.
- Enter your username and password, then click "Confirm."
- Choose the "Email confirmation" option and click "Enable."
- A confirmation code will be sent to your registered email. Copy the code into the "Email confirmation code" box and click "Confirm."
- Save the backup codes in a secure location by copying and pasting them into a text document. Click the "I have saved the backup codes" button.
- If you don't receive an email from Matrix Server, check your junk mail folder. Be patient, as the site email server may take some time to send the email.

- If you encounter issues receiving emails from Matrix Server, opt for the phone app method.

Note: Preferred email domains for accounts include gmail.com, googlemail.com, hotmail.com, ymail.com, yahoo.com, msn.com, rediffmail.com, yandex.com, mail.ru, outlook.com, and live.com. Other email providers may pose compatibility issues.

2. **Verification with a Phone App:**

Setting Up App-Based Verification

If you haven't already, install a verification app like Google Authenticator or Authy.
Navigate to your "Password and Security" page by clicking on your username in the top right corner of any page.
Click the "Change" button for two-step verification.
Enter your username and password, then click "Confirm."
Choose the "Verification code via app" option and click "Enable."
Use your verification app to scan the provided QR code. Copy the generated code from the app into the "Verification code" box and click "Confirm."
Copy and paste the backup codes into a text document and store them securely. Click the "I have saved the backup codes" button.
Remember, it's crucial to save your backup codes before confirming by clicking the "I have saved the backup codes" button.

Note: The code generated by the verification app changes quickly. If you're not swift enough in copying the code to the site, the two-step verification setup may fail. In such cases, try entering a different code. Wait for the verification app to display a new code, then quickly copy it into the "Verification code" box and click "Confirm" again.
